Director of Programs & Events

Greater Nashville Private Capital Association (GNPCA)

Reports to: Executive Director
Status: Full-time

Position Summary & Role:

The Director of Programs & Events is the public-facing architect of the private capital association and exists to translate the organization’s mission, strategy and sponsor commitments into high-impact programming that strengthens Middle Tennessee’s private capital ecosystem. This leader ensures that every forum, panel, networking event and partnership experience delivers measurable value to members; advances the GNPCA’s strategic priorities; strengthens sponsor ROI; and elevates the region’s reputation as an emerging hub of opportunity. This is not an event-planning role, it’s a senior member of a fast-paced team tasked with delivering high value member experiences and serving as the engagement engine of the organization.

This role is accountable for the quality, relevance and consistency of all programming; the execution and financial performance of events and sponsorship-supported initiatives; the member and sponsor experience before, during and after every program; and the public reputation of the GNPCA through its events and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Event Strategy
Own the vision, structure and cadence of programming. Develop and maintain an annual programming calendar of events to align with strategic priorities, sponsor commitments.

Speaker, Content & Program Development
Ensure events are relevant, insightful and professionally produced. Identify relevant content and recruit quality speakers. Manage events from conception to execution, including speaker recruitment, task management, speaker and member communications, content management, event flow and materials, and all logistics pre, during and post event. 

Sponsorship & Revenue Enablement
Turn programming into a sustainable revenue and relationship engine. Develop sponsorship packages and serve as the point person for sponsorship sales, ensure sponsor commitments and marketing needs are delivered and fulfilled. Provide post-event reporting and sponsor ROI visibility.

Event Operations & Production
Own the full lifecycle of every event, including venue research and contracts, budgeting, timelines and production schedules, vendor and task management (such as, but not limited to, AV/photography/gifts/catering/signage/name badges/ volunteers/registration). Day-of event leadership and post-event reconciliation and reporting.

Event Promotion & Audience Engagement
Ensure programs are well-attended and professionally presented. Own all event-related email communications, including invitations, reminders, confirms, recaps, speaker/sponsor thank yous etc. Coordinate event promotion through website updates, email campaigns, social media. Manage RSVPs, attendance tracking and follow-ups.

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Turn events into measurable organizational assets by tracking attendance, engagement, sponsor exposure, revenue. Maintain event records in CRM and databases and produce reports for leadership and sponsors.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in event management, PR, community programming, campaign or association work

  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly organized and able to juggle multiple priorities

  • Comfortable representing the organization publicly

  • Design and presentation tools (Canva, PowerPoint) preferred

  • AI/ChatGPT experience preferred
