Nashville, TN (May 20, 2025)–The Greater Nashville Private Capital Association (GNPCA) today announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors, marking a significant expansion as the industry association continues to grow in scope, influence and membership.
Joining the board are:
Wes Barton, Co-Founder and General Partner at Third Prime, a New York and Nashville-based venture capital firm with $500 million in assets under management with investments in early-stage technology companies. Barton launched Third Prime following a decade in private equity and hedge-fund investing across a range of industries.

Mioton is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and enabling the growth of Shore’s healthcare investments. Previously, he held roles with Quad-C Management, The Boston Consulting Group, Wind Point Partners and UBS Investment Bank.
These additions bring the total number of board members to 11, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to representing the full spectrum of private capital in Nashville and the Tennessee region, including venture capital, private equity, growth equity, family offices, corporate venture funds, endowment offices and angel investors.
“These leaders bring a wealth of experience and sector-spanning expertise to our board,” said GNPCA Executive Director Judith Byrd. “It’s essential that our leadership reflects the depth and diversity of experience within our region as we continue to play a critical role in shaping the innovation economy.”
The board expansion comes amid a period of strong membership growth for the private capital association which was recently founded with seed investment from Vanderbilt University. The new board members will support the association’s mission to foster collaboration, advocate for industry growth, and deliver meaningful programming for its members.
